Tai Chi vs Qi Gong (Chi Kung)

Seems people ask a lot of questions about the relationship of Tai Chi and Qi Gong   or  Chi Kung or the many other ways to spell something that is really a symbol.  Or questions about breathing and where chi is flowing.

I like Neil Bradley’s insight.

Neil Bradley • Personally, I assume the Qi is going in the right place by simply focusing on applications.

It’s like when you drop a full wine bottle on your toe. My wife recently did that. I swear, the oxygen was sucked out of the room. I knew it was bad before I went to help. She didn’t yell or scream. Just stood there, sucking air, standing on one leg, hissing “Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!

My point is, with the distraction of the pain, she didn’t need to think about balance or deep breathing. She naturally guided her Qi. Perhaps pointing this out at the time wasn’t my finest hour, but you get the gist.
